The anime starts with the story of Yukiteru Amano “Yuki”, a classical outcast. To get through the day he writes a diary on his cell phone or talks to his two imaginary friends Deus Ex Machina, who is the god of Time and Space, and Murmur, the god’s servant. One day Deus grants Yuki a “Random Diary” which shows descriptive entries based on the future and forces him to take part in a bloody battle. Yuki must fight 11 other holders of similarly future diaries. The ambition of the battle is to find and kill all other members in order to survive
Personal Opinion
"Mirai Nikki" is doubtless one of my favourite animes. The music and the animation fit perfectly together, which is an important point to me. I really like how the whole story is set up, even though I personally think the story of Yuki is a bit too cliché like. The outcast highschool student suddenly gets into a dangerous adventure that could change his life forever. However its not something that I strongly dislike, I just think it’s something that happens way too often in animes and mangas. But all in all I can really recommend Mirai Nikki. It’s not an anime that takes a long time to watch (8hours) and with all the unforeseen elements you will never get bored!
