Action

In the year 2022 a massive online role-playing game named "Sword Art Online" (SAO) has been launched and progressed virtual reality. The "NerveGear" is a new technology which allows players to control their virtual avatars within the game. To control the avatar they do not need any kind of controller or keyboard. The key to the game is the opportunity to use the players own mind to control the avatars and their actions.
Kazuto Kirigaya, also named "Kirito", was one of the lucky players who got to test the pre-released game of "Sword Art Online". As he logs into the game, he finds himself in the world of Aincrad, together with ten-thousand other people. Aincrad is a world filled with medieval sceneries and weapons. Although the game seems fantastic, the players soon realize that they can't log out of the game. They got trapped in the game by the game's creator until a player completes all one hundred levels of "Sword Art Online"
Kirito, which is more of a solo-player will now have to fight beside his fellow players in order to beat the game. To make the matters even worse, the game "Sword Art Online" is totally not all fun and games: if a player dies in the world of Aincrad, they will also die in real life. Kirito needs to get used to this new kind of "reality" and fight in order to survive his virtual nightmare.
Personal Opinion
Sword Art Online is an anime that I can definitely recommend. Its filled with an interesting story, great character developments and a bunch of special effects. My favourite thing about Sword Art Online was the character development of the two Main characters Kirito and Asuna.
Sword Art Online got a marvellous soundtrack, which fits perfectly together with the animation and special effects.
The only thing that bothers me about Sword Art Online is the progression of the story. I do not want to spoil about the anime but my personal opinion on the story progression contains a small spoiler. I would have liked the anime even more if the directors would have focused on the game Sword Art Online instead of adding some more. Even though they got a really interesting story, I think the director should have stayed with the original theme of the anime. But still I can say that Sword Art Online is doubtless a really great Anime that I can recommend to all kind of people. It guarantees action, romance and also some really emotional scenes.
