Attack on Titan Season 2 delayed?

All anime fans out there know the pain of waiting for following seasons. One thing "Attack on Titan" fans will definitely need is patience.
We all believed that "Attack on Titan" would return in spring 2016 with season 2, but the latest reports are currently pointing toward another direction. Actually it seems like the second season of "Attack on Titan" will come out much later than expected.
Ecumenical News mentioned in a report that the director Tetsuro Araki and his animation team have been side tracked by another production. However, there are other reports which point out other reasons for the delay, such as lacks of material.
The release date of "Attack on Titan" season 2 was and has always been a little nebulous. That's because the anime team was literally waiting for the manga to get ahead since they were working on other projects. According to some reports the second season wasn't even in production until October 2014. Once the manga of "Attack on Titan" ends the show can go on with its second and maybe even final season. But that certainly won't happen in 2016. The manga was actually expected to end in 2017 and there weren't any new reports about it, so the future isn't all that far off.
Sadly the wait for "Attack on Titan" season 2 continues. There are two more story arcs and then we're good to go. But for "Attack on Titan" fans its worth the wait. Compared to the series "Game of Thrones" "Attack on Titan" won't finish before the manga, which is something that probably will make many anime fans out there happy.
